Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every quotation, order and installation by Steel Stairs and Gates of 4 Fort Cottages, Westerham Hill, Westerham, Kent TN16 2ED.

Quotations

Estimates given from photographs or drawings are budget figures. A fixed quotation is issued after a site survey and is valid for 30 days. It covers exactly what the approved drawing shows. If the design changes once the order is placed, the difference is quoted before we proceed.

Orders and payment

An order is confirmed when you accept the quotation in writing and pay the deposit stated on it. The balance is due on completion of installation unless the quotation says otherwise. Materials remain our property until paid for in full.

Drawings and approvals

Fabrication begins only when you have approved the drawings. Planning permission and building regulation approval, where required, are the customer's responsibility unless we have agreed in writing to obtain them.

Site and access

The customer provides safe access, a clear working area and, where needed, parking or a parking-bay suspension near the site. Structural elements we fix to must be sound; if they are found not to be, we will advise before proceeding.

Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed. Hot-dip galvanised steelwork carries the galvaniser's guarantee against corrosion; powder coating carries the coater's guarantee. Damage caused by others, or by lack of maintenance, is not covered.

Cancellation

Orders may be cancelled before fabrication starts, less any costs incurred. Once steel has been cut to your drawing the deposit is not refundable.
